The number of Cards and ATM transactions is growing very fast day by day and the need to have a very efficient reconciliation tool that eliminates manually reviewing reports for GL entries and Journal Rolls of ATM for non posted items, reconciliation system has been felt by all commercial banks. This is not withstanding the fact that there is a growing network of ATM, and once the bank joins these networks, the headache of Cards and ATM transactions reconciliation becomes a nightmare. This is due to the fact you have to handle Cards and ATM transactions from own customers using the bank’s ATM as well as non customers using our banks ATM terminals..
CHALLINGS

- ‣ ATM Owner Duties & Responsibilities are Branch staff (Business) not IT staff.
- ‣ Overhead for Stakeholder in ATM Reconciliation process like (Branch, Business, and IT staff, ….. etc) .
- ‣ Hardness of ticking and comparing Cards (Prepaid & Credit) transactions of all kinds (POS,Internet,..etc) with the Core Transactions report for each ATM.
Objectives
- I. ATM transaction reconciliation process
- The B-ACCORD software can help ensure that all Cards transactions (Prepaid & Credit) and ATM transactions (cash replenishments, withdrawals, Direct Deposit (BNA), and other transactions) are truly, properly and correctly represented and posted in the core bank system. The reconciliation system has also become necessary to reconcile Cards transactions and ATM cash balances, Due to the large number of transactions. In addition, in situations where cash has not been disbursed, but customers accounts have been debited, or cash has been dispensed and customer’s accounts have not been debited, there is need to pass reversed debits or credits in the customers’ accounts as early as possible. This will reduce inconvenience caused to customers. Reconciliation procedure will be made automatically and displays the mismatch (claims) in a clear manner.
- • Eliminates the Manual Ticking.
- • Saves Time: It only takes less than 5 minutes to reconcile transactions that would have taken more than a whole day or more depending on the number of transactions.
- • Accuracy: No transactions are left out or over looked as in the case of manual reconciliation.
- • Reduce printing cost: eliminate printing reports from core bank for atms' transaction to compare it with gotten journal (manual ticking)
- • Save transaction as appear in journal (journal archive): the system save transaction as appear in journal and bank employee can search for it any time in easy way
- • Reports for withdrawals and direct deposit (BNA) transactions that cause different in ATM balance (Bank can fix this issue before client clam)
- II. ATM Cash Management
- B-ACCORD System provide ATM replenishment department with information about ATM replenishment to achieve two goals:
- 1. The proper replenishment amount for this period.
- 2. The best distribution for cash notes types. Where replenishment team compare this period with identical previous period (salary period, eid, holiday) through system reports like
- • Total transaction amount for each ATM
- • Dash board and statistics about requested amounts by customers that make amount distribution more accurate.
- • Ascending ATMs to know which need replenishment before going out of service (replenishment planning)
- III. DASHBOARD AND STATISTICSE REPORT
- B-ACCORD System provides management with dashboard and statistics that support them to help them to take decisions and actions like:
- • Business reports
- • Third party Statistical Reports: Number of transactions or sum of transactions amounts per interface.
- • Improve planning: provide rates of change indicators in (highest or lowest) & (growth or decrease) for all ATMs’ Transactions that registered in the ATM journal.
- • Suspicious transactions Statistical Report: Number of suspicious transactions per ATM (ATM Level) or per Interface (Interface Level).
- • Statistics for ATM network (utilization , type of Cards which are using bank network, VIP zones )
- • Technical reports
- • Increase ATM system reliability and customer satisfaction: the system will report the ATM Statuses that will support the Management to trigger the problem and solve it.
- • Problem isolation: the system will report the error status and if it hard ware with part make that error (communication failure, dispenser error …..)
